After the military coup, Gangaw township became a township that was frequently attacked and patrolled by SAC soldiers and troops. “People from Shokpin village are already fleeing, now the soldiers are at the monastery of Shokpin village, and Pantak and Khyukhu villagers are preparing their packages to flee,” said a local.
After 9 o’clock in the morning, the SAC military troops crossed the Myit Tha River Bridge through Shoukpin village (Aung Myin) and went to Pya Village. Through Pya Village, they crossed the Longtaung Bridge between Gangaw Town and Pya Village and were retreating towards Gangaw Town.
On June 9th, the Kha-La-Ya 50 military based in Gangaw went for patrol with more than 100 soldiers to the west of Gangaw, causing most of the nearby villages to flee. Today, a military column came out for patrol once, and it has been investigated that two columns have been went for patrol twice a week.
“We are anxiously worried about when the soldiers will patrol and shoot the villages with heavy weapons. We always have to prepare the packages for flee,” said a local.
In this way, the military troops used force and frequently patrolled around 5 miles from the town.
