Bago Region PDF reports that a local defense force intercepted and ambushed a military column that was marching up on the Pegu Range (Bago Yoema) in Paungde Township, Bago Region, and a Lieutenant was killed.
On May 28, at around 2:00 p.m., a 41-soldiers column of the SAC was ambushed in the vicinity of the Thit Poke village tract, near the bull cattle hut.
“When we heard that an infantry column had come from the Tower Camp, we were waiting for them. We waited for them in advance and attacked near the bull cattle hut near Thit Poke village. The lieutenant officer died. They carried the dead officer in a cradle and retreated to Thit Poke,” said the information officer, PDF Battalion – 3601, Pyay District.
On May 29, at around 2:00 a.m., the body of the lieutenant was carried by a car and the body was escorted by four motorcycles back to the Light Infantry Battalion -10 in Pauk Taw.
On May 16th, while the soldiers that stationed at Theingone Monastery and Tower Camp in Paungde were coming down to get water, the local PDF attacked with landmines near Theingone Dam, killing three soldiers and seriously wounding twoothers.
The MPA could not separately confirm the soldiers’ injuries and deaths.
