During the 10-day battle that took place in the eastern part of Demoso, Kayah (Karreni) State, nearly 40 soldiers, including 3 officers, were killed and weapons and ammunition were confiscated, it was reported.
From May 14th to 23rd, the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) announced that the Karenni Army (KA), KNDF Military Strategic Camp No. 6, KNDF Military Strategic Camp No. 4, KNDF-ETD, the KNDF-UAV, and Loikaw PDF jointly fought back as the 425th Light Infantry Battalion, 517th Light Infantry Battalion, and 287th Infantry Battalion under the SAC Military tried to attack on the ridge of the mountain near Dawler Khu and Taneelarlel in the eastern part of Demoso.
“What is being published now is for the 10-day battle. In the long battle, the Military suffered a lot of casualties. Almost 40 soldiers of the SAC, including one captain and two lieutenants, were killed. Among those who were injured, there were also captains. The battalion commander leading the column and a temporary battalion commander were wounded in the battle and had to run away back,” said a KNDF official.
During the 10-day battle, the SAC suffered a large number of casualties, and battalions based in Loi Kaw, Ngwe Taung, and Hpruso fired heavy weapons every day and bombed and fired at least 60 times from the air with jet fighters.
During the battle, MA-1 (8), MA-2 (1), MA-3 (3), MA-4 (1), 9mm Pistol (1), RPG (2) and related ammunition, communication equipment, and military equipment were seized and two enemy prisoners were also captured alive.
During the 10-day fighting, one soldier from KNDF/B01, two soldiers from KNDF/B07, three soldiers from KNDF-B09, one soldier from KNDF/B01, and one soldier from the Karenni Army (KA) were killed and others were injured (non-critical).
MPA has learned that the SAC continues to attack the eastern part of Demoso until today, using air strikes rather than the ground and bombarding with jet planes.
