It is reported that the military council troops entered in and shot with heavy weapons Ngar Shan village on the Monywa-Mandalay-road and burned down Ngar Shan village, so 1 local man was killed and about 200 houses were burnt to ashes.
Chaung U Revolution announced that “on May 11, at around 6:30 p.m., the military opened fire and entered into village, so 1 woman was injured”.
“At night, they entered the village by shooting heavy weapons. When they fired with heavy weapons, 1 local man was hit by a weapon and killed, and 1 woman was injured. And the village was also set on fire,” said an official from the Chaung U People’s Defense Force.
The Moe Thar Yake Media which reports the news of the Cheung U Revolution, reported that the person who was hit by the weapon and died on the spot was a Ngar Shan villager named Ko San Lin, and the injured person was his wife who was seriously injured.
“Suddenly, when the military troops came in, the villagers realized that a villager had been shot to dead by a large weapon. All the villagers had to flee with only one piece of clothing,” said a resident of Chaung U.
“The Military Council troops is still encamped about 5 miles in the east of Ngar Shan Village, and local residents are still fleeing, and about 8,000 residents from nearby villages including Ngar Shan Village, have fled,” said an official from the Chaung U People’s Defense Force.
