It is known from Pale Township Public Administration Group that more than 9,000,000 kyats were collected for tax revenue in March, by collecting it by 9 gates in NUG and PDF dominated-area in Pale township, Sagaing Region.
The National Unity Government, Pale Township Public Administration Group, Township Public Defense Force and Township Public Security Force held the monthly-meeting for budget allocation and tax statement in May 8th, 2023.
In the meeting, the relevant officials discussed the activities and needs related to education, health electricity, forestry, humanitarian aid and tax officers for Pale Township, and the finance officer made a statement of the tax collected from 9 gates in Pale Township and distributed it according to the NUG’s budget distribution policy.
The Pale Township People Security Force announced that “the total amount of tax revenue received in March is 9,483,800 kyats after deducting the expenses of 9 gates. The 30% (2,845,200 kyats) for the Ministry of Planning and Finance of NUG, 30% (2,845,200kyats) for the township people administration force, 30% (2,845,200 kyats) for the township people defense force, and 10% (948,200 kyats) for emergency and environmental expenses, were allocated for each”.
In addition, according to meeting’s decision, the tax revenue received for the process of the Public Administration Committee was allocated for humanitarian, health, education, development and office expenses, to the relevant responsible person.
Regarding this, a close person who did not want to be named said that “actually, it is right in Sagaing. Because as far as I know, in some areas, they are getting much more than they expected. Yes, they are getting taxes. In some areas in Sagaing, they dominated much more, so the people come and pay a lot of taxes,” he said.
It is informed that the tax revenue received for the process of the People Defense Force will allocate transparently in front of the members of the township Pa-Ka- Fa, the PDF Battalions based in Pale Township and Station Pa-Ka-Fa.
On March 20, 2023, Pale Township People Administration Force visited and provided the grants, to the villages with the person in charge of Township Humanitarian Aid, which is provided by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, for 32 villages of Pale township that had to flee from the war during patrolling by the military troops.
