It is reported that PDFs ambushed the SAC troops who were drunk and looting people’s valuables near Tagaung Town, Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region, and 11 soldiers were killed.
On May 5th, at around 8:30 in the morning, Tagaung PDF (Pa-Ka-Pha) reported that Thabeikkyin Township People’s Defense Force opened fire on the SAC troops while they were burning down 15 public houses in Sue Taw Village, near Tagaung Town.
“They (SAC troops) came from the 7-mile side in two cars. They were drunk and shouting and swearing from the moment they got out of the car. They put money and other things in their bamboo baskets (Chin Kyar) from the houses of Letpankone village and entered Sutaw village,” said Tagaung PDF News and Information officer.
About 60 soldiers arrived at Letpankone Village in Tagaung Town and looted things from house to house, and then they arrived at Sue Taw Village.
“They couldn’t shoot back immediately. They were drunk, so they shot back a little later. The encounter shooting lasted for an hour,” he said.
After the battle, the dead soldiers were brought in three hearses from Tagaung Town and buried in the Tagaung cemetery in the evening.
Regarding the death of the soldiers, the MPA cannot confirm separately.
It is said that the villagers of Letpankone and Sue Taw are avoiding to a safe place before the arrival of the SAC troops.
