It is reported that more than 4,000 local residents in Tagaung Circle, who are fleeing due to the SAC’s airstrikes, are in need of water and food assistance.
On April 15, the Military carried out five airstrikes in Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region, and Tagaung Circle, causing people to flee from the villages of Okeshitkone, Maingdaing, Paykone, Yinkhwinl, Nyaungone, Nyaugkone, Kyaukaik, and Suekone.
“We have to drink the remaining water which it rained taking with a bottle. We have water barely, we can’t shower, and it’s not easy to cook food,” said a man who was displaced by war.
In addition to the difficulty of drinking water, they are said to be carrying water to cook rice and food by cart from the nearest water source.
It is reported that some children and the elderly are suffering from diarrhea due to impure drinking water and the hot weather.
“They sit under the trees in the afternoon, the patient is not too many yet. There are doctors, but it is not easy if it is long-term,” he continued.
In Tagaung Circle, the SAC troops and Tagaung Township PDF had fought four times from April 13th to April 15th, Tagaung Township PDF announced.
Currently, the situation of the fighting is calm, but the SAC troops have spread the news that they will attack again by air, so the local residents who have fled the war are still unable to return to their homes.
