The Kyunhla Activists Group announced that two mentally ill people were brutally killed by the SAC troops in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region.
Ko Wali (35 years old), an Inlelgyi villager who is unable to hear and speak and mentally ill in Kanbalu Township, was shot multiple times with a gun, and U Htay Maung (65 years old), another mentally ill person, was tied behind his hand and set on fire.
“Inlel village was burned for two days. The village is a big village. It is estimated that about 200 houses were burned to ashes. Two of the people who were killed were mentally ill. One of them is not serious. I don’t know which day they were killed. It was the third and fourth,” said an official of the Kyunhla Activists Group.
On the evening of April 3rd, the Kanbalu-based artillery battalion and more than 150 Pyu Saw Htee troops entered the Inlelgyi village, burning down the village and killing them.
“When their column came to the village, we had to leave them because there was no way to get for both of them and to run away,” said a villager in Inlelgyi.
Inlelgyi village is a big village with more than 800 houses. In 2022, the SAC troops burned down 136 houses.
At present, it is not yet known exactly how many houses were burned down in Inlelgyi village, which was burned for two days.
