Residents said that the 50th Infantry Battalion of the SAC in Gangaw Town, Magway Region fired heavy weapons at Lone Haw, Zar Haw, and Oak Hla on April 3rd at around 8:00 am, causing residents to flee.
“There were about 6 or 7 rounds fired with heavy weapons. That’s why the whole village has fled,” a resident told MPA.
After the heavy weapon fire, the 50th Infantry Battalion (Kha-La-Ya-50) went out to attack in three military columns: one to Sai Due, one to West Gangaw, and one to Zar Haw, causing the residents to flee.
Among them, the residents said that about one column having 120 soldiers was advancing toward Sai Due, and about each column having 60 soldiers were advancing toward West Gangaw and Zar Haw.
The residents have not been injured in the offensive and heavy weapons firing to clear the route, but they say they are having difficulties fleeing into the forest.
Residents say that the Coup Military has been firing heavy weapons and advancing areas where the People are fighting for resistance daily. During these operations, local people were arrested and killed and their villages were burned down, according to residents.
From February 1, 2021, when the Myanmar Military seized power, until today, international organizations have announced that there are more than one million local people who have fled due to the Coup Military’s heavy weapons firing and offensive in Myanmar.
