On March 30th, a four-year-old child in Thayetkan village was shot and killed by the SAC troops and Pyu Saw Htee troops who were on the march from the Pyu Saw Htee Thayetkan village, Myaing Township, Magway Region.
“Since they were about three fields away from the village, they started firing guns and coming in recklessly. Then the villagers ran away and some of them escaped. The child that happened now was being carried by his father’s back. I think he was hit when his father looked back while running. The bullet penetrated from under his left eyebrow,” said a resident of Thayetkan village.
It was learned from the leader of the Myaing People’s Defense (Galun Force), Ako Lay, the SAC troops and Pyu Saw Htee troops from the Thayetkan village of Pyu Saw Htee were to carry food due to a lack of provision, and without encountering anything with the Defense Forces, they opened fire inside the village.
“They came in around 9:30 in the morning. The child happened around 10 o’clock,” he said.
About ten people were also arrested in the Thayetkan village, and they were released when the SAC troops left.
“They left around 4:00 p.m. They took two motorcycles and smashed some of them. A boy from the village was asked to bring battery pots with the motorcycle. When he went a short distance away, the boy stopped the motorcycle and ran away. They shot him with a gun. But he escaped,” said a resident of Thayetkan village.
MPA found out that the name of the dead child is Pan Pan and that the child will be buried today April 1st.
