A police officer said that an implementation plan is being focused to arrest UGs in Yangon.
According to a Yangon-based police officer, the Yangon Region Military Headquarters and Command Office had recently learned that the above plan would be implemented from Jan. 11 and would continue until the end of this month.
“Just the military planned it. Nothing was told to the police. They just asked them to do it. This plan includes ambushes and guerrilla investigations. They are using concealing outfits and appearance to spy on the ground. For example, hawkers, vendors and brokers,” he said.
He commented that the reason for making the above plan is that the military chiefs based in Yangon do not want to go frontline.
“The police and soldiers in Yangon are there because they have good connections, or because they are useful for this place. If it is quiet in Yangon, they often have to leave the front line. No one wants Yangon to be quiet. We need to be careful wherever we go. Pyu Saw Htee (militias of SAC) may attack by pretending to be PDFs,” he continued.
MPA has learned that it is not known which townships in Yangon will focus on arresting the UGs and each of the four townships in Yangon is handled by a person at the rank of captain, who gives information investigation and arrest orders.
