It is reported that the administrator and his team in Ward 20, Shwe Pytha Township, were allowed to carry guns by the SAC and were forced to collect the vote list.
“Now, the power at Ward – 20 in Shwe Pyitha has gone strong. The neighborhood’s thugs and Pyu Saw Htee (militias of the SAC) have joined the administration office. Now they are collecting vote lists door-to-door. They seem like they don’t care about anyone,” said a resident of Ward – 20.
It is reported that the SAC gave three guns to the administrator of Ward – 20 and his team.
A resident of Ward – 8 said that the administrator of Ward – 20 and his team, who are allowed to carry firearms, often test-fire their guns after drinking.
“There were my relatives there and they were scared. They heard two gunshots last night at 10 o’clock. They think the soldiers shot. Later, my relatives found out that the administrator’s team shot. They are collecting door-to-door for the election. They are doing in Ward 8, Ward 13, and Ward 7. The guys from Ward – 8 ask for money as soon as the guest list reporting is one day late,” said a resident of Ward 8, Shwe Pyitha Township.
It has been reported that administrators and 100-house elders of some wards in Shwe Pyitha Township have been reappointed newly and are allowed to carry guns, but this has not been confirmed by MPA.
In some neighborhoods in Shwe Pyitha Township, it is known that door-to-door census has been conducted since January 6.
