Some observers of Myanmar affairs said that NUG Acting President Duwa Lashi La’s attitude towards talks with the terrorist SAC fully reflects the will of the people.
On December 1, in the Reuters Next program organized by the Reuters news agency, the Acting President said that if the NUG had to have a mandatory discussion, they had set four preconditions, and even if these four were accepted by the SAC, they would discuss with the SAC probably.
These four facts are to give the people an immediate cessation of violence, to give assurances that the military will completely withdraw from the political world, to allow all humanitarian aid without hindrance, and to accept the abolition of the 2008 constitution. The NUG Acting President said that international intervention and strong guarantees will be needed for the discussion.
“The Acting President’s four preconditions are the common desire of all our people. During the Spring Revolution, our people were already divided against the SAC. The reason why we have divided a line with the SAC is that the military is so mean and despicable,” said a Yangon-based political analyst.
A political commentator said that the Acting President’s four preconditions may be an impossible request, but there is no possible request with the terrorist SAC.
“What we have to meet at the table with the military is that they will not be satisfied even if we nod and accept everything they say. In Myanmar’s politics, the answer is clear. The people will never surrender. The only thing that matters is whether Min Aung Hlaing surrenders,” he said.
He added that the Acting President’s four preconditions were to force the terrorist SAC to surrender, which was the will of the people.
