A local Rohingya school teacher from Gudar Pyin village in Buthidaung Township, Rakhine State, was shot dead today.
Regarding his death, (Ma) Wai Wai Nu, who is the niece of the deceased and a Rohingya activist, confirmed the news on her Facebook account.
It is said that the deceased teacher, (U) Shekul, was a teacher who was teaching as a volunteer in the village where he lived.
It is said that he was shot and killed while returning to feed the animals left behind in the village while avoiding the battle.
“The group that shot and killed (U) Shekul Islam must be held accountable for the crime they committed. We will act until justice is served, and all those who gave the order and shot will be punished,” (U) Aung Kyaw Moe, an adviser to the Ministry of Human Rights of NUG, announced on his Facebook page.
The MPA has not yet been able to confirm which group did the shooting and killing of (U) Shekul Islam, and there are various speculations on the social online page.
