The Second Police Station Officer of the city police station in Ann, Rakhine state, was arrested by the Military Intelligence Force (Sa-Ya-Pha) on September 9, the police confirmed.
The arrested person is the Second Police Station Officer, Inspector Thet Hlaing from the Ann city police station. It is not known why he was arrested, but some terrorist military officials said that it could be a drug case and that he was arrested by order of the command commander of the Western Regional Military Headquarters.
”The main reason is still unknown. But maybe because of the drug issue. He was arrested by order of the command commander. The Sa-Ya-Pha commanding officer is the confidant of the regional command commander,” a senior officer of the 371st Light Infantry Battalion in the Western Regional Military Headquarters at Ann City, told the MPA.
The police said that the police community was dissatisfied with the arrest of the city’s Sub-Police Station Officer by the terrorist military’s Sa-Ya-Pha without informing senior police officers in Ann.
The terrorist military community also explained that the Western Regional Military Headquarters is located in Ann City, but the regional command commander, General Htin Lin Oo, is only in Sittwe City, and the second regional command commander lives in Ann City.
”The Sa-Ya-Pha commanding officer often shows a little power. He doesn’t get along with the second command commander very well. But because he is trusted by the regional command commander, he is working well. He has even arrested some military police,” said an officer from the 373rd LIB of the Western Regional Military Headquarters in Ann.
It is also said that the Sa-Ya-Pha commanding officer was involved and manipulated in the seizure of drugs at the checkpoints in Ann Township and that he has a bad relationship with the police, including most of the military officers in Ann Township.
In Rakhine, fighting between the Arakan Army (AA) and the terrorist military has been intense. Some of the terrorist troops, including police and soldiers, have been abducted from the city by the AA and some of the military troops often desert, according to the terrorist military community and local residents.
