The military junta has already seen its end under the raging succession waves, but refusing its end. It is critically struggling to prolong the last days of Nay Pyi Taw.
With a crippling spirit, the military in disintegration was able to stop the heavy losses in northern Shan on January 11 with the help of China, but in Rakhine State, it continued to be defeated under the continuous attack of the Arakan Army (AA). Once again, the junta lost nine towns in more than four months of offensive. The AA continues to occupy the towns of Buthidaung and Maungdaw and has the potential to completely conquer the entire Rakhine region.
On March 7th, while Myanmar’s military was flattened under the AA’s offensive, the KIA and its allies launched an offensive in Kachin State – resulting in the loss of junta bases and many surrenders who raised white flags. On March 15th, the KIA and its allies attacked and captured more than 20 military camps, and all the camps near the KIA headquarters in Laiza were wiped out completely.
The news reports that the military, which has suffered heavy losses in Rakhine and Kachin States, is traditionally surrounded by losses in Karen State as well. In Karen State, the KNLA and its allies launched an offensive on March 7 at the same time as the KIA.
They attacked the three battalions, which were the 355th and 356th Light Infantry Battalions, and the Thingan Nyinaung police station – guarding Thingan Nyinaung strategic hill (camp), which is only about 10 miles away from Myawaddy Town on the Thai-Myanmar border. In addition, after 35 years, the recapture of Hpalugyi military base, located 9 miles away from the sourthern part of Myawady on the banks of the Thaungyin River, became an important morale booster for the KNLA and its allies.
Furthermore, the surrender of the junta colonel and about 60 soldiers from the strategic hill base in Kyaik Don Town, Kyainseikgyi Township, Karen State on March 14, has opened the door for more mass surrenders.
The military junta, which is swimming among the seas of losses in Rakhine, Kachin, and Karen, is already speeding up the process of forcing the people to serve in the military, according to its tradition: if it can’t win in the fighting, it will make the people trouble.
During the second week of March, a list of youths who have reached the age limit for military service was collected in Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw, and many towns, and they were summoned to join the military. It is learned that the military training will be short-term, and they will have to go to the front lines in rotation.
It is also known that if those who have reached the age limit for military service are not at home without a valid reason, they will be considered fugitive. Currently, those who do not come to the designated place after receiving the summons are threatened with arrest, and those who go to the designated place are required to undergo a medical examination and sign a commitment not to run away, according to some reports.
Due to the bad nature of the military junta administrative levels, there is no doubt that the military junta’s personnel and members in every administrative levels will happily commit extortion and arrest of those who are of a certain age and are not at home or family members in any case. In other words, the military junta has threatened 14 million young men and their families who are eligible for military service and their families at gunpoint to join the war, and it has also threatened young people and their families who will soon turn 18 years old.
The military junta is wreaking havoc on the younger generation with a vengeance for all they have lost, leading to total destruction. In addition, the conscription law is life-saving for the military junta, which is almost dying in the emergency room, and it is also its last breath.
