A civilian was killed, and four others were injured when the junta troops opened fire to the village of Nweyon, Singu Township, Mandalay Region, with heavy weapons at 5:00 p.m. on April 7, according to Scout Ground News-Wetlet.
A shell fired by the junta troops stationed in Chaunggyi Village, Thabaikkyin Township, exploded near La Pyae Wun Community Hall (for religious purposes) in Nweyon Village, Singu Township, Mandalay Township.
“It was fired from the troops stationed at Ye Aye Dwin Monastery in Chaunggyi Village. The 7-mile training school, the 13-mile military camp from Thabaikkyin and the military camp from Matara—a total of three are stationed there. The details of the victim are still being investigated,” explained an official of Scout Ground News-Wetlet.
Currently, junta forces are invading and burning villages in the Mandalay-Bamho Road section, Pyin Oo Lwin, Matara, Wetlet, Singu and Thabaikkyin townships on the border between Mandalay and Sagaing Region, causing civilian deaths due to heavy weapons fired by junta troops.
“In Sinku, junta troops are going on the rampage everywhere. They enter by water and destroy villages near the banks of the Irrawaddy River. They drop bombs with drones without fighting, and people suffer losses. It’s on the Sinku, Thabaikkyin, Wetlet, and Matara sides,” said a local man from Singu.
On March 31, 2023, junta troops fired heavy weapons and exploded in the village of Khet Thin, Singu Township, injuring four residents.
