“They have been entering the village since yesterday and burning the oil wells. Yesterday, while they were burning the oil well, they returned because it rained and they could not burn. They came back this morning and burned it again. Workers from the village are also fleeing, a local in Myaing Township said.
This is the second time the oil field has been set on fire, the oil workers are unemployed and face many difficulties to support their families because of the arson attacks, according to a local source.
“The military dogs set fire to an oil well in November for the first time. The fire caused a lot of problems for the workers as the village was mainly dependent on the oil wells. This time it was set on fire again.”, he continued.
It is not known yet how many oil wells were destroyed by fire in Tharetkan Village by the terrorist SAC troops. Local people who fled the area when the troops entered the village have not yet dared to return to the village.
In addition, about 200 troops of the terrorist SAC arrived at Kywe Dwin Village, west of Myaing Township, and they cut down Thanakha trees planted by the people and brought them, according to a local source.
