The Chin Defense Force (Matupi) attacked the junta outpost on the outskirts of Matupi town in Chin State, killing seven junta troops including a captain and seized weapons and ammunition at around 9:00 a.m. on December 1, according to officials.
Saline Nai John Kam, the CDF (Matupi) spokesman told MPA, “Our CDF has no casualties. Seven junta troops including a Captain were killed. The fighting lasted for only half an hour. We retreated because the junta rashly fired heavy weapons”.
The junta outpost was stationed on the Mintat-Matupi Road with 20 forces. The CDF (Matupi) seized a pistol, two MA3 Guns and some ammunition during the fighting.
After the fighting, a junta helicopter reportedly landed in the towns of Mintat and Matupi.
“The helicopter came to Matupi from Mintat side at around 1:00 p.m. today, but it did not carry out airstrikes,” a Matupi resident told MPA.
The soldiers from the Junta Infantry 274 arrived by car and ambushed the Eastern Ward of Mintat town and set fire to three houses, according to investigation.
