It was reported that at 8:30 a.m. in the morning on 5th April, the military khaLaYa-50 based in Gangaw town in Magwe Region had patrolled, and more than 10,000 local people were fleeing.
The residents said that the soldiers were dropped off by military vehicles at U Kyin Hote street in the Gangaw township, and the column of the military crossed to the west of the Myit Tha River and were patrolling to this place.
“The soldiers are now in the monastery in the south area of Zaho village, so the entire villagers has fled,” a local resident told MPA.
The residents said that this column of KhaLaYa-50 is patrolling Oak Hla, Zaho, Loneho, and so the villagers of these villages are fleeing, and right now, the column has already reached Zaho village at the moment.
Another local resident told MPA, “the 1 military vehicles of Gangaw KhaLaYa-50 dropped off the soldiers at the U Kyin Hote street, and another 3 vehicles were dropped off near the We Love Gangaw Bridge”.
The local defense forces said that the 40-strength column that was placed down the U Ningyi road has already started to enter Zaho village. The column of more than 90 forces that placed down near the We Love Gangaw bridge crossed the Myit Tha river and joined the column at Zaho village through the West Gangaw, and was going on to patrol.
“Now, everyone in Zaho Village has arrived at the pagoda. Please, Be careful for the way the columns of the military are coming, parents and comrades in the ground. May everyone be safe,” Yaw A Lintan said.
