At the World Poetry Day ceremony was held in the revolutionary area in the eastern part of Myaing Township, a minute’s silence was held to pay tribute to the poets who were killed during the Spring Revolution.
In this ceremony, they honored the fallen poets, including Kay Za Win and Kyi Lin Aye who were killed on March 3, 2021 due to the firing of the SAC military on Monywa town, and the modern poet, Khit Thi, who was killed in the SAC military’s interrogation camp on May 9, 2021.
On 21th March which is World Poetry Day, the World Poetry Day ceremony was held at the Midland Guerrilla Force-MRG base in the eastern part of Myaing Township. A total of 60 poets, artists and PDF comrades from Pakokku, Myaing, Palae and Yesagyo who are fighting against the SAC military, attended.
A Poet, Min Thantzin, said that since the time of Covid-19, poetry recitals have not been held, and the desire to recite poetry is very strong. When Min Aung Hlaing seized the power, the poets exploded more violently. That is why revolutionary poets gathered together and organized a World Poetry Day ceremony.
A Poet, Min Thant Zin, recited Poet Khit Thi’s nut poem, and 41 revolutionary poets recited their own revolutionary poems and poems by other poets.
“I am very happy. I can’t help to cry when I see that poets are not behind in the revolution in this ceremony,” said poet Win Myint Hlaing, leader of the Down Black Guerrilla Force.
The ceremony was held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on March 21
