The junta plane dropped bombs on two bridges in His-U village in Mansi Township, Bhamo District, Kachin State, at 2 o’clock in the early morning of February 15, according to local residents.
Namkan Wooden Bridge _ in the west of His-U village _ and another concrete Bridge in the middle of His-U village _ connecting Mansi township and Mabin town in Shan State _ were reportedly destroyed due to the bombardment.
“Three jet fighters bombed four times. The wooden bridge was damaged from the far side, and the concrete bridge was not damaged much, and there were no casualties,” a person close to His-U village told MPA.
Currently, there are no military activities between the junta troops and Kachin Independence Army (KIA) in Mansi Township, but the destruction of the bridges used by the people is an inhumane act, according to a Mansi resident.
“There are road closures due to the fighting in Mansi and Manwaigyi. Mansi and Bhamo are not very far, so we take care of everything. We want them not to destroy the roads that people use. It’s worse now in Bhamo because Bhamo-based Infantry Battalion- 47 often open fire heavy weapons randomly,” said a woman from Bhamo town.
Last January 9, two local women were injured as the junta launched an aerial bombardment on a wedding ceremony.
During January and February of this year, the Kachin Independence Army attacked and seized Gong Nguyen Military Camp, Kaihteik Military Camp under the Infantry Battalion-602 and Balong Dinsa Military Camp under the Infantry Battalion-250.
