The military junta’s plane reportedly bombarded a hospital in Kukkokone village in Kawlin Township in Sagaing Region.
The hospital of Kukkokone village _ on Shwebo-Myitkyina Road in Kawlin Township _ was attacked by the junta plane with four bombs at around 3:00 p.m. on February 9, according to a battlefield news source.
As a result of the bombing, some hospital buildings were reportedly damaged, but no one was injured.
“The junta troops are coming in with about 800 forces. They dropped 4 bombs with a plane yesterday. They also fired heavy weapons like raining yesterday. This morning, their junta troops were in the town, so they didn’t shoot with a plane and also heavy weapons yet. One column of junta is behind the hospital and do not advance. There are still gunshots this morning,” he said.
Kawlin Revolution-KR reported that the Light Infantry Battalions 111 and 120 based in Wuntho opened fire 21 shots with howitzer cannons from5:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. on February 9, damaging some houses inside Kawlin town.
“The southern part of Kyaw Zeya Ward was set on fire at 3:20 p.m. yesterday. The junta also were shooting with heavy weapons all day. So, some houses were damaged. The junta troops are trying to get Kawlin town back and the resistance defense forces are trying not to abandon Kawlin, so the fighting is still going on,” said an official from Kawlin Revolution-KR.
The fighting is still fierce between the military junta and the resistance joint forces in Kawlin town, and MPA is still investigating the damage to both sides.
