According to sources on the front line of the battlefield, the revolutionary forces have gained control of Nat Than Kwin Town, Kyaukgyi Township, Bago Region.
The KNLA and PDF forces jointly launched an attack on Nat Than Kwin Town, Kyaukgyi Township as a town capture battle early this morning today (December 26), and they took control of the town at about 8:00 a.m. and are clearing the area.
“The town is under control. But the situation is not stable. If the situation is stable, we will issue a report,” said Comrade Tin Oo, the deputy commander of No. 2 Sub-Military Region, Southern Military Region, the People’s Defense Force.
After the town battle, the military junta troops were firing heavy weapons and aerial fire.
“We went to attack the town this morning. One of our soldiers fell. One was injured. He is just wounded in his hand and face,” said a comrade who was in the battle.
The list of the junta army’s casualties and ammunition seized during the town battle is not yet known.
The revolutionary forces blew up the bridge over the Sittaung River in Nat Than Kwin on June 6 of this year.
