The 7th Battalion of Myingyan District, the Zero Guerrilla Force announced that 30 soldiers were killed in the 3-day battle that took place in the western part of Sadaung, Sagaing Township.
From June 13th to 15th, a battle broke out between the SAC troops and the PDF forces when SAC troops marched to attack Tharzin Village and Paukma South Village which is the western part of Sadaung Town.
On June 13th, around 10:00 am, a battle broke out in Tharzin village, and it was announced that 10 soldiers were killed and around 10 were injured.
Also on June 14, another battle broke out in Tharzin village, and it was known that the list of soldiers killed and wounded had not yet been confirmed.
Then, on June 15th, a battle broke out in Paukma South village, killing about 20 soldiers and wounding many others, the Zero Guerrilla Force, the 7th Battalion Myingyan District announced.
“The SAC forces about 150 soldiers stationed inside the Sadaung police station and marched to clear the area. When the soldiers clashed with us, a battle broke out. We fired with large and small weapons, and they fired back at us,” said Deputy Battalion Commander Sayar Lay of the Battalion-(1) of Kyaukse District (Red Dragon Battalion), which was involved in the Salt Mountain battle.
He said that 6 comrades of the People’s Defense Forces were seriously injured when a 40-mm Mortar heavy weapon fired by the SAC soldiers exploded nearby where PDFs were.
“They retreated and burned Thazin village. On June 15th, when they came to Paukma Taung village again with the remaining force, there was another battle around that area again. The battle was more intense. It started at 8:15 a.m. and lasted for more than an hour,” said Sayar Lay.
On June 13th, the SAC troops burned Tharzin village, destroying more than 600 houses, and on June 15th, the SAC troops burned the villages of Paukma North and Paukma South, and the state of the damage is unknown, Sagaing Township Right News Information reported.
The 3-day battle was carried out jointly by the Zero Guerrilla Force – Battalion -(7) of Myingyan District, the 1st Battalion of Kyaukse District (Red Dragon Battalion), the Sadaung Moe Gyoe and Allied Forces, and the 1st Battalion of Sagaing District.
