According to local news sources, more than 20,000 people have fled because SAC troops are marching to attack in Pale Township, Sagaing Region.
It is said that the 150-soldier column from the Wanbao Company passed through Salingyi Township and entered Pale Township on June 10th, and as the column was marching to attack, more than 2,000 people were fleeing from Min Taing Pin, Let Pu Kan, In Kyin Su, Nwe Shaut, Kyung Bo Gone, Tha Yet Kan, Ta Laing Kan, Hlawgar and Ta Nel villages.
“Mabe It’s not long enough to avoid the war. It must take long days for Tha Yet Kan Village and Ta Laing Kan Village. Everyone gave to flee because they (SAC troops) are between Inn Ma Htee and Kan Daunt,” said Bo Nay Yaung, the deputy battalion commander of the 19th Battalion of Yinmabin District, to MPA.
It is said that the military column wanted to deliver food to the Pyu Saw Htee (militia under SAC) in the villages of Inn Ma Hti Village and Zee Phyu Kone, and the column is joining Pyu Saw Htee forces from Inn Ma Hti village at Hlawgar village today.
“There are still not happening any clashes. The Pyu troops from Inn Ma Hti village are also joining them. The purpose of this column is to carry food to the Pyu,” said Bo Nay Yaung.
It was investigated that that military column was the 704th Light Infantry Battalion based in Yangon and was led by the Battalion Commander, Naing Zaw Tun.
