It is reported that the SAC troops killed 18 civilians in Htantapin Township, Bago Region for no reason.
PDF (Pa-Ka-Pha) of Htantapin Township said that 18 civilians, including 5 children, were killed for no reason by the joint column of the battalion under the 44th Division and the 207th Battalion of the Kyaikhto Base in the early evening of May 10.
“18 people were brutally killed for no reason. I didn’t hear that the village was set on fire. They were killed around the early evening of the 10th. I think that the SAC troops were hit a lot and that’s why the civilians were killed for no reason. It is difficult to investigate the news because the fighting still goes on,” said a local revolutionary comrade.
On the evening of May 10th, the SAC column killed for no reason these people who live in Nyaung Pin Thar; Daw Khin Yi (68 years old), Daw Than Than Swe (35 years old), U Win Myaing (70 years old), U Zaw Moe Aung (40 years old), Daw Thu Zar (40 years old), Daw Chut Ti (58 years old), Daw Tin San (53 years old), Daw Khin Ohn (55 years old), Daw Tin Ohn (53 years old), Ma Than Wai (28 years old), U To Toe (53 years old), U Kyaw Thein (55 years old), whose name is still being investigated (15 years old), whose name is still being investigated (7 years old), whose name is still being investigated (5 years old), whose name is still being investigated (18 years old), whose name is still being investigated (9 years old) and Maung Aklan Sein (10 years old).
“We went as scouts. We also know that their column had entered at night. I don’t think a mass of people would be burned,” he said.
He added that when the revolutionary comrades arrived in the village, they found charred corpses, and it is still unknown whether they were killed and burned, or whether they were burned to death.
On May 10th, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, near Nyaung Pinthar village, there was a clash between the SAC troops and the joint forces of KNU and PDF, at least 20 soldiers were killed and 3 lieutenants were captured alive, according to Htantapin PDF.
It is reported that the bodies of the soldiers who died during the battle were buried in the yard of the public house in Nyaung Pinthar village.
The death of the soldiers could not be independently confirmed by the MPA.
In the eastern part of the Bago Region, clashes are taking place between the SAC troops and the KNU and PDF joint forces, and because the SAC troops are marching to attack, locals of some villages are avoiding their military column.
