The Rohingyas said that in the evening on 18 January, the two groups of armed Rohingyas exchanged fire with each other on the Bangladesh side of Myanmar-Bangladesh border, and the two were killed and many others were injured.
The exchange of fire was between the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO) and the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), two RSO members were killed and more than 20 people of both sides were injured.
“When ARSA came to shoot the RSOs sitting in the shop, they exchanged fire. Then they came from the other side and shot at each other and set fire to homes,” a Rohingya from the refugee camp that was set on fire his home told MPA.
It is said that there is a Rohingya refugee camp in the uninhabited area of the border between the two countries in 2017, where there is a large population, and most of those whose homes were destroyed and burnt by fire are facing difficulties.
In 2017, due to the genocide by the Myanmar Military in Rakhine, about 700,000 Rohingyas from Maungdaw, Buthidaung and Rathedaung Townships fled to Bangladesh on the other side.
The Rohingyas have not been able to return to their homes until now and they are fleeing again, so they are living in the refugee camps with all kinds of difficulties and problems.
“Due to we run again in the midst of trouble, we are in trouble. Who is there to be afraid of? I don’t know who to ask for help anymore,” a Rohingya refugee told MPA.
The Bangladeshi Authorities came to the place where they were shot and burned, and they arrested some of the ARSA group there, and also said that the whole place is under tight security.
From there, some Rohingya are re-entering into the border area of Myanmar. They are living in the forest without food.
