It is reported that the SAC military troops looted and destroyed gold blocks in Kyunhla Township, Sagaing Region, for 3 consecutive days.

“On May 25, in the local area called Tentinyan Khone on the east bank of Thaphanseik Dam, Kagyun Hla Township, the workers’ motorcycles and equipment related to gold rafts were destroyed and taken away, and 2 workers were killed and around 70 people, including businessmen related gold blocks, were arrested”, the Infinity Group reported.

“They have been entering and destroying the gold blocks since the morning of May 24th. It has been 3 days today. One worker was shot and killed on May 24th. Another one was shot yesterday,” said an Infinity Group official.

Since the morning of May 24th, around 200 joined- forces of the Infantry Battalion (Kha-Ma-Ra-361) and Pusawhti, which came out of Kanbalu Township, had destroyed 300 gold blocks near Thaphanseik Dam.

Infinity Group has announced that the current value of one raft from the gold block near Thaphanseik Dam is around 40 million kyats (400 lakh kyats), and the people could lose tens of thousands of dollars due to intrusion and destruction of the SAC military troops.

Currently, there are around 500 rafts in the gold blocks near the area of the Thaphanseik Dam.
