The military junta, which is in the emergency room with the worst situation ever seen during the time of the military dictatorship, has made enemies again by shouting anti-China slogans.
The kinsfolk (Pauk Phaw in Burmese), who has been firmly standing as a strategic partner in the region since the days of Than Shwe, who is the second dictator, has now become the invading villain in the script written by the generals of Nay Pyi Taw.
According to Operation 1027 and its subsequent operations, the number of junta camps that have been occupied completely has reached close to 200. Town after town in Northern Shan State, Sagaing Region, and Chin State were occupied, so it seems that the helpless military junta is looking for a way out with the script of protecting the motherland.
Starting in mid-November, religious extremists who used to rent with MMK 5,000 and a box of biryani re-emerged and waved the anti-China flag.
On November 19, religious extremists arrived in front of Yangon City Hall with a force of around two football teams. Everyone who has experienced the NLD government knows well that the origin and path of religious extremists are those who were forced to do so by the military junta as well as the Chinese government.
Religious extremists protested with vinyl posters, as taught by the Nay Pyi Taw generals. Vinyl posters with text such as “We call on China to stop supporting terrorist insurgents in northern Myanmar” “This is our country. Our union. Our internal affairs.” “Oppose those who interfere with internal affairs”—they clearly oppose China. In that protest, religious extremist U Pannavamsa even claimed that China is arming the Three Brotherhood Alliance and PDFs.
The next day after the protest, on November 20th, the spokesperson of the military junta raised the wick again by calling it a war of aggression. Then, the Minister of Foreign Affairs appointed by the junta and the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Chen Hai, met in Nay Pyi Taw on November 23.
The statement of the junta stated that they exchanged views on improving and strengthening relations between the two states, continuing to develop joint venture projects, and continuing to work together to maintain stability and law and order along the border of the two countries.
The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar made a brief statement that the two sides exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.
Then, the MNDAA Kokang announced that the last hill of the junta based in Lauk Kai had been captured on the night of November 24th and that the MNDAA’s operation was heading towards Lauk Kai.
It can be said that the Chinese military started military exercises on the border with Myanmar on November 25th, which is a sequel to the anti-China protests and operations.
Why does the Military Junta create anti-China demonstrations? It shapes Operation 1027 as a war of aggression by China, wants to distort the image of the Spring Revolution, promotes radical nationalism, and is an imaginary madness that can lead the people astray.
The practical result is that the traditional ally of the military dictators is likely to lose the support of neighboring, powerful China, and the military junta is able to successfully take another step towards the fall of Nay Pyi Taw.
