Pa-O National Liberation Army reported that the junta military dropped two 500-pound bombs on Htanyan village in Hsi Hseng township, southern Shan State, at around 1:00 p.m. on March 15, destroying a monastery and injuring 2 novices.
Since the junta opened fire with heavy weapons on a convoy carrying a Pagoda by the residents of Htanyan village on March 14, some residents were reportedly injured.
“It is seen the junta is targeting on pagodas and monasteries valued by the Pa-O people. This action is a threat if people resist against them, they can destroy what those people value dearly. That’s why we must work harder to end the dictatorship. If so, we all will be able to escape from this suffering,” said the PNLA spokesperson Khun Rein Yan.
“There are about 300 houses in Htanyan village. The situation becomes worse. Locals also fled. Two novices were hit. The monastery is destroyed too much,” said a man from Hsi Hseng.
Similarly, when a displaced man returned to take needed things to his home in Aung Thapyay ward in Hsi Hseng township on March 14, he was shot by the junta troops and injured in his leg.
According to the statement of the PNLA, there was a clash fighting between the junta troops and the Pa-O National Liberation Army (PNLA) _ at Kyauksa village in Hopong township, southern Shan State _ on March 13. After 2 junta officers and 11 troops were injured, they (junta) retreated by carrying injured those troops and looting the cars of the local people.
