The junta troops brutally killed two civilians in Madaya Township in Mandalay Region.
A column of around 70 junta troops patrolling in the eastern part of Madaya Township killed two men _ from the villages of Seik Thar and Inn Kone _ at Seik Thar village on February 12, according to an official from Madaya Myoman Force.
The junta troops arrived with three Faw Cars at Kyauktada village in the eastern part of Madaya Township at around 7:00 a.m. on February 12, then they entered the villages of Seik Thar and Inn Kone, dividing two infantry columns. So, the residents of the villages fled from military columns, and some were arrested by the column. Among those arrested, the junta column reportedly killed young men.
“The military column that entered Inn Kone village arrested two men of Inn Kone and took them to Seik Thar village. Both of them were doused with gasoline and were left in the house. Then, while the junta troops were burning the house with gasoline, one of them fled from the house. So, they (junta) didn’t burn to death those who fled, but we found his dead body that they (junta) shot to his head, slashing his arm with a knife,” said an official from Madaya Myoman Force.
In addition, Ko Zaw Myo Htet (35 years old) from Seik Thar village was brutally killed by slashing his body with a knife and a man who was killed from Inn Kone village is Ko Hnin (35 years old).
“The junta column patrolled towards the area of Ngarlone from Kyauktada. Then they patrolled with 50 forces to Seik Thar village and with 20 forces to Inn Kone village. They arrested two villagers of Inn Kone and one of them escaped. Another one’s head was shot to death. One villager of Seik Thar was stabbed to death,” a local resident said.
Moreover, 4 houses in Seik Thar village were reportedly burned down by the junta column.
This column reportedly retreated from Seik Thar village to Kyauktada village at around 11:00 in the morning of February 12 and returned to Madaya town at about 5:00 in the evening.
