The Yaw Revolution Army-Htilin announced that there was a 4-day battle between the SAC column and the Local Defense Forces on the Htilin-Saymintaw road in Gangaw District, Magway Region, and both sides ended in casualties.
It is said that the SAC convoy with 33 vehicles of the 77th Division and other divisions, with a number of more than 200, was attacked by the Yaw Revolution Army – Htilin, Gangaw District Battalion (15/16/17) of the NUG Ministry of Defense, and other allied joint forces from March 15 to 18. More than 40 SAC soldiers were killed and more than 30 were injured.
During the four-day battle, there were four landmine attacks and two exchanges of heavy and small arms, and YRA-Htiin’s Company Commander Comrade Kyaw Min Lwin was killed and two comrades from the coalition joint force were seriously injured.
After being hit by a landmine, the SAC column burned down eight houses in Shwekhontaing village and killed six innocent people in nearby villages, confirmed Thakin Zaw, in charge of YRA-Htilin.
“Before they reached Shwekhontaing village when we attacked with landmines, there were many casualties on their side (SAC column). Then they entered Shwekhontaing village. They burned eight houses. What is significant among these is that an old blind woman, about 80 years old, was burned alive in the house,” he told MPA.
On March 15, the SAC column burned and killed 80-year-old Daw Khin Pu, and on March 16, they arrested and killed U Car Kyaw, who was over 70 years old, and U Than Htwe, who was 55 years old and mentally ill. On March 18, U Than Min Aung, a 40-year-old mentally ill person, was killed and 40-year-old U Bo Tin was tied to a tree, arrested, tortured, and killed.
Similarly, on March 18th, an eleventh-grade student from Saymintaw Village, Maung Pyae Phyo Kyaw, was found to have tied his hands behind his back and killed, and YRA-Htilịn reported that it was being investigated whether it was the perpetration of the SAC soldiers or not.
