It is reported that a grandmother was killed on the spot when a car that is carrying the displaced people was overturned in Myaing Township, Magway Region.
On March 7th, a local PDF comrade said that a grandmother was killed as the car overturned when around 5,000 local residents were fleeing to safety, due the Military column that are returning from Kanni Pyusawhti village to Yaesagyo Battalion was patrolling near Kangyi Taw village in Myaing Township.
“The convoy was heading towards Kangyi Taw village. The whole village were fleeing. At the turn of the road out of the village, the car couldn’t control the speed and the Light Track car overturned and a grandmother was thrown away. She was died on the spot. The car was full of people and goods. If villagers don’t have a motorcycle, cart, or car, they have to run on foot,” he said.
The grandmother who was killed is from Kankyi Taw village, and a grandfather also fell on the cart and both his legs were injured.
“The grandfather was provided medical treatment at our clinic. Every village where the convoy passed have to fled. There were around 10 villages. A car and a motorcycle were burned down by the Military in Kangyi Tow village. There was no shooting. This morning, the convoy has already reached Anyar Taw village. When the convoy comes, the villagers flee. If the convoy is far away, go back to the village,” he said.
Due to the military column is patrolling in Myaing Township, the local people of Kangyi Taw, Kwon Taw, Htan Ti Pin, Htan Naung Kha Hla, Taung U, Anyar Taw and nearby villages are fleeing to safety.
