According to the market, the current price of brand-new phones is more than 150,000 kyats different from the price of second-hand phones, so the sale is brisk.
“Now in the market, the price of a brand-new Redmi Note 9 is 450,000 kyats and the price of second-hand phone is around 280,000 kyats. We offer a 15-day or one-month warranty. We sell second-hand phones which are in a good condition,” said Ko Latt, who opened a Second-hand Phone shop.
In addition, in the current period, as the rate of incidents such as phones being robbed, stolen, and pickpocketing has increased, so that a large number of phones have entered the second-hand phone market.
“My brother collects phones. The price depends on the type of phone. I pay about 3 and half or 4 (hundreds of thousands) for an iPhone X 256GB. Then I bring it back to the phone shops,” said a phone dealer.
In the current used phone market, the price of phones is 1,850,000 kyats for I phone 12 pro (256GB), 750,000 kyats for iPhone X (256GB), 380,000 kyats for iPhone 7plus (256GB), 1,590,000 kyats for iPhone 11 promax (256GB), 485,000 kyats for Samsung Galaxy A23 (6/128 GB), 640,000 kyats for Samsung A72 (8/256), 560,000 kyats for Huawei Nova 9SE (125GB), 350,000 kyats for Vivo Y21 (4/64), 260,000 kyats for Realme C17 (6/128), 215,000 kyats for Redmi Note 9s (6/128), 320,000 kyats for Redmi Note 8 pro (8/128), 260,000 kyats for Redmi 9 (4/64) and 260,000 kyats for Tecno Pova 1 (6/128), and the price may change over time.
