The Burmese Women’s Union announced that 15 women lost their lives during the month of February due to the shootings and killings of the SAC troops throughout Myanmar.
It is learned that eight of the women died because the SAC troops fired heavy weapons into the villages, and three of them were burned alive when they entered the villages in Sagaing Region.
It was also announced that 429 women had been killed until February 2023 during the military coup attempt.
Between February 1st and 25th, 35 women were detained by the Military in Tanintharyi, Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Yangon, Sagaing, Bago, Mon and Shan. Mandalay region had the highest number of 13 and Bago Region had the second highest number of 6, according to the Burmese Women’s Union.
The Burmese Women’s Union said that most of those arrested in February was for writing and sharing posts against the Military and their accomplices on social media.
