“We cannot buy as much rice and other food items as we used to in Palaw. Shops are restricted from selling.”, a local told the MPA.
In Palaw Township, there are frequent clashes between the terrorist SAC and the People’s Defense Forces, the terrorist SAC troops are blocking to distribute food to IDP camp and the PDFs due to the injuries suffered by the terrorist SAC, the locals said.
At present, in Palaw, one person could buy limited groceries including rice 5 Pyi (1 Pyi = 2.557 Liter) and cooking oil 1 Liter in the rice warehouses and other grocery stores in towns and villages, according to the locals.
“In the past, we could sell shops from parts of towns and wholesale shops when they wanted four or five hundred eggs. Now we are not allowed to sell more than 100.”, a grocery owner in Palaw City said.
It is said that the terrorist SAC have also been taking actions on the owner of rice warehouses and grocery stores that sell more than the limit in this month.
Furthermore, if one to two bags of rice are found in the houses, they will be arrested.
“If you want to make a donation, you have to get a recommendation from the ward administrator and relevant associations, and you can buy.”, another local said.
As the terrorist SAC troops are strict on IDPs camp and the PDF forces to make food shortages, there are some food shortages, according to the People’s Defense Forces.
The MPA could not separately confirm some reports emerging that the terrorist SAC troops even were searching in the houses whether for food stockpiles or not, and arrested them if they stockpiled.
