The Spring Revolution of Myanmar, which has been blazing fast, would not be able to advance to a new level without the strong faith, commitment, and resilience of the Myanmar people.
The international community knows without exception the magnificent democratic faith of the Myanmar people, but it is not a sad matter that they have not been able to give practical support to the hopes of the Myanmar people.
Everyone already knows that the result of the 2020 election, which is the true will of the Myanmar people, was seized by the junta with arms. However, some countries cannot let go of their relations with the military junta; they give an excuse for a change from dialogue and solutions through which to communicate with the military junta.
When the Five-Point ASEAN Consensus on Myanmar came out on April 24, 2021, the international community gave generous support, but neither ASEAN nor the international community could afford to implement it. The main reason is that the military junta not only rejects the consensus but also kills people and carries out terrorist attacks without caring about anyone.
Practical events that are happening in Myanmar right now testify that ASEAN’s punishment for rejecting the five-point consensus by the junta, barring military leaders from attending the ASEAN summit, is not enough. However, ASEAN can’t reach out for the additional punishment. They only hold on to the five-point consensus and sit and watch that the military junta kills to the people of Myanmar.
There are many massacres of civilians by the military junta—Pazi Gyi village, Letyet Kone village, A-Nang Pa, Mong Lai Hkyet IDP camp. The Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM), a team of former UN human rights officials, has documented the junta’s horrific human rights abuses, but the world continues to ignore them.
The international community could afford not to bring up the military junta for legitimacy, but they did not support the armed revolution, which was the choice of the Myanmar people. They just provided no more than verbal support for the Myanmar issue.
Operation 1027 marked a turning point with unexpected military successes by the international community: many battles to seize bases and the battles to seize towns. There were also a lot of surrenders by the junta troops. However, the international community seemed to have nothing to do with them.
According to UNOCHA-Myanmar’s statement on December 15th, the number of internally displaced people across Myanmar has exceeded 2.6 million. The international community knows for sure that humanitarian aid will actually reach the IDPs through the NUG and the ethnic armed organizations, but the United Nations does not want the military junta to be dissatisfied.
The worst situation is that China has pressured the Three Brotherhood Alliance to cease fire when the revolutionary forces were gaining momentum. The meeting of the Brotherhood Alliance and the military junta in Kunming on December 11th was China’s attempt to prolong the life of the military junta, which was under heavy military pressure.
India, a long-lived democratic country, has nothing to do with the democracy and the Spring Revolution of Myanmar and only wishes to shake hands and wipe the hands of the blood-stained military leaders. Pauk Phaw China also wants to be related to the military junta.
ASEAN and the international community continue to be busy issuing statements on Myanmar issues.
The above incidents show that the flag of the Spring Revolution has no choice but to continue to pass through the stormy sea of fire with our own blood, our own lives, our own hands, our own rudders, and our own sails. Right now, the life of our revolutionary is urgently calling us to keep standing united and relying on ourselves.
