The Mandalay People’s Defense Force (MDY-PDF) has vowed to work closely with the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) to dismantle military dictatorship and establish a federal democratic union.
In a congratulatory message marking the 36th anniversary of the MNDAA’s Army Day, the MDY-PDF expressed great joy over the successful return of the Kokang people’s army, along with the achievements of the first and second waves of Operation 1027.
“The revolution led by Shan (North)-based ethnic armed groups has taken various forms, influenced by both China’s opportunistic interests and Myanmar’s internal conflicts. This complexity is understandable for those fighting on the ground. However, regardless of these challenges, the seizure and governance of Lashio stand as a decisive victory—not only for the MNDAA but also for the broader Spring Revolution. I believe we must continue marching forward,” a Shan (North)-based comrade told MPA.
The message also highlighted MDY-PDF’s deep appreciation for its coordinated efforts with revolutionary allies, including the MNDAA, during Operation 1027.
This collaboration, it stated, strengthens the push for the complete eradication of military dictatorship, advances national equality and self-determination, and contributes to the ultimate goal of establishing a federal democratic union for the people of Myanmar.
