The Acting President of the National Unity Government (NUG), Duwa Lashi La, called for a deeper and more inclusive unity, urging ethnic groups and all revolutionary forces to stand together.
During a NUG’s meeting on Wednesday, Duwa Lashi La emphasized the need for stronger unity among revolutionary forces.
“In today’s government meeting, I want to stress the importance of building true unity among all revolutionary forces. By unity, we mean working together to completely eradicate our common enemy—the terrorist military junta.”
On behalf of the entire NUG, the acting president also commended the recent unification efforts between the Chinland Council (CC) and the Interim Chin National Consultative Council/Chin Brotherhood (ICNCC/CB).
“The Chin people, both locally and in the diaspora, have welcomed this unity with great enthusiasm. In the Spring Revolution, their example should serve as a model for other ethnic revolutionary groups,” he added.
While acknowledging the strength that comes from the emergence of various revolutionary groups, Duwa Lashi La stressed that consolidating and unifying all forces would make the movement even stronger.
He pointed out that Myanmar’s political history is marked by division and internal conflict, even in the post-independence era, with factionalism weakening resistance efforts.
“If we can maintain unity in the Spring Revolution, we will succeed in eradicating military dictatorship. At the same time, we must remain vigilant against the military’s divide-and-rule strategy, which they have used for decades,” he warned.
The acting president highlighted that successive military regimes have consistently sought to undermine unity among ethnic groups and revolutionary forces, cautioning against actions that could benefit the junta.
Union Prime Minister Mahn Win Khaing Thann also called for intensified efforts in six key areas—politics, foreign affairs, military, administration, finance, and public relations—to ensure more effective and successful operations.
