In his State of the Nation address marking the fourth anniversary of the Spring Revolution on Saturday, Acting President Duwa Lashi La reaffirmed that the National Unity Government (NUG) has no priority beyond the revolutionary cause.
He emphasized that the NUG remains committed to dismantling military rule and establishing a federal democratic state, vowing to pursue these goals with unwavering determination and clear political resolve.
Acting President Duwa Lashi La said, “For the people to use the NUG as a stepping stone toward the ultimate goal of the revolution, I want to make it clear that we, the NUG, are always ready.”
He emphasized that the NUG remains fully committed to both the revolutionary struggle and the process of nation-building, carrying out its responsibilities with accountability to the people.
“Despite the political and revolutionary hardships of this arduous Spring Revolution, we will continue moving forward with an unwavering focus on the people,” he said.
Acknowledging both the strengths and weaknesses of the NUG, he said that efforts are ongoing to minimize weaknesses and maximize strengths.
“Our government consistently listens to public input and remains steadfast on the revolutionary path,” he added. “We highly value the people’s suggestions and opinions and will continue implementing effective reforms.”
He concluded by reaffirming that the NUG was founded on the principle of national unity to advance both revolutionary and nation-building goals. He also underscored the government’s commitment to working alongside ethnic resistance allies, not only through political alliance but also through practical cooperation.
