The People’s Defense Force (PDF) carried out artillery and drone strikes on a junta-occupied village in Magway Region’s Pwintbyu Township, reportedly resulting in the death of one junta soldier.
The attack involved 43 drone bombs and eight 60mm mortar shells targeting junta troops stationed in Sin Lu Village, Pwintbyu Township, on Wednesday. According to the Minbu District Battalion 4, the assault lasted approximately seven hours, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 pm.
An officer from Minbu District Battalion 4 explained to MPA, “Sin Lu is a Pyu village hosting Pyu paramilitary forces and junta soldiers from Kan Pyar Village on the Salin-Sidoktaya Road. These troops were targeted with drone bombs and 60mm mortars.”
The attack reportedly set fire to 10 houses where junta soldiers were stationed, resulting in multiple injuries.
“Although exact details are not confirmed, initial reports indicate that around 30 individuals were injured,” the officer added.
The injured and deceased personnel were reportedly transported from the Kan Pyar police station using three ambulances.
The attack was a joint operation conducted by Minbu District Battalion 4, the Pauk-Myaing People’s Defense Team, Yaung Force (PKU), Earthquake Defence Force (PKU), Joker (Guerilla Force), Sidoktaya People’s Defense Team, and the Myaing Township People’s Defense Team Drone Unit. The PDF forces successfully withdrew without suffering any casualties.
MPA has been unable to independently verify the number of casualties or fatalities among the junta troops.
