The People’s Defense Force (PDF) raided and set fire to the office of Military Security Affairs in Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region.
The MSA office in Ward No. 2 of Palaw Town was targeted around 11:10 p.m. on Monday. The Myeik District Battalion 1 stated that the junta soldiers stationed at the office fled during the assault.
Comrade Arnold, the communications and information officer for Myeik District Battalion 1, told MPA, “Four junta soldiers were inside the office, with about three more stationed nearby at the town hall. As soon as we launched an RPG, they fired around six shots before fleeing. Those at the town hall also ran. We didn’t face any real resistance.”
The destination to which the fleeing junta soldiers retreated remains unknown.
After entering the office, resistance forces reportedly recovered two magazines, 100 rounds of ammunition, and various documents before setting the building on fire.
“The office was partially destroyed by the fire,” Arnold added.
By Tuesday morning, junta troops arrived in large numbers to secure the area around the office.
