The military junta carried out an aerial bombing with paramotors in northwestern Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, killing two women.
Two paramotors from the military junta’s Northwestern Command, based in Monywa, bombed a village in northwestern Chaung-U Township around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Chaung-U People’s Defense Force (Chaung-U PDF).
An information officer from the Chaung-U PDF told MPA, “Let’s not mention the name of the village. One young woman and a girl were killed, and two other civilians were injured.”
He suggested that the military junta might be conducting ongoing airstrikes as part of a clearance operation around their Northwestern Command base.
“As of 3:30 p.m., a Y-12 aircraft is heading toward Chaung-U,” he added.
Earlier today and last night, the junta also carried out airstrikes using Y-12 aircraft in the border area between Chaung-U and Monywa Townships, killing six civilians and injuring 20 others.
