Eight junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militia members from Chin Myit Kyin Village in Kanbalu Township were ambushed while patrolling the Chin Myit Kyin-Kar Boe road on four motorcycles. The attack occurred north of Nyaung Pin Seik Village around 8:00 a.m. on Friday, reportedly killing five.
An official from Kanbalu District Battalion 4 told MPA at around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday that the bodies of the slain junta troops remained at the scene, uncollected and unburied.
During the ambush, junta forces were unable to return fire. While one motorcycle carrying four individuals managed to escape, the remaining motorcycles were disabled by gunfire. Resistance fighters reportedly seized three G3 rifles, two carbines, and a supply of ammunition.
The attack was a coordinated effort by Battalion 4 of Kanbalu District and the local People’s Defense Team. All PDF members safely withdrew without casualties.
MPA could not independently verify the number of junta casualties.
