A military junta airstrike using a paramotor targeted Ywar Tan Shey Village in Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region, reportedly killing a woman and severely injuring her husband and their three-month-old son.
According to the Taungtha People Movement Committee, the military junta carried out three rounds of bombings on Ywar Tan Shey Village, near the border of Taungtha and Mahlaing Townships, at around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The attack was launched from Shan Tae Airbase in Meiktila Town using a paramotor, with two bombs dropped in each round. As a result, one civilian house was damaged.
An official from the Taungtha People Movement Committee told MPA, “A bomb landed near the house of the victims, a family of three.”
The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Ma Pu, while her husband, who sustained severe injuries, is approximately 30 years old.
“The injured individuals were taken to the hospital, and the deceased was buried around 12 p.m.,” the official added.
The military junta had previously bombed Thar Si Village in Taungtha Township on January 21, resulting in the death of a 70-year-old woman.
