Resistance forces carried out two separate attacks on junta troops in Myaing Township, Magway Region, killing four soldiers and seizing three firearms, according to local reports.
The attack targeted junta forces from the Lin Ka Taw Police Outpost while they were planting landmines and confiscating food supplies from villagers on Tuesday morning. According to a report by the Myaing People’s Defense Team on Tuesday afternoon, three junta troops were killed, and two BA-63 rifles were seized.
A Myaing Defense Team official explained to MPA, “The police outpost is located within the village. Normally, the junta soldiers stay inside the outpost and rarely venture out. Villagers typically remain in the village, but when junta forces arrive, they flee. This time, while the villagers had fled due to the arrival of a military convoy, the junta troops came out and planted mines near the school.”
Some junta soldiers were injured during the clash and were reportedly taken back to the Lin Ka Taw Police Outpost for treatment.
Later that morning, resistance groups ambushed two junta soldiers traveling from the junta’s Administration Office in Myaing Town to the Mandalay Gate around 11 a.m. One soldier was killed, and the other critically injured. The resistance forces reportedly seized an MA-1 rifle and 17 rounds of ammunition during the ambush.
The Myaing Defense Team stated that these operations were carried out collaboratively by several groups, including the Myaing People’s Defense Team, Defense Team Battalion 1, Salingyi SSTF, Myaing Defense Team – North Zone Lin Mway Unit, and Ko San Shay Unit.
MPA has not been able to independently verify the reported casualties and injuries among junta forces.
