The military junta reportedly dropped two bombs on a public hospital in Kyaukme town, Northern Shan State, which was under the control of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA).
The airstrike killed two civilians, including a female nurse who was actively participating in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), according to local sources.
The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) announced that the military junta conducted an airstrike on Saturday, dropping bombs from a jet fighter at approximately 1:25 pm. and 1:29 pm.
A source from Kyaukme town told MPA, “Both bombs directly hit the hospital. At least two people were killed, including a nurse participating in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM). This information is based on eyewitness accounts.”
The attack targeted the emergency ward of Kyaukme Public Hospital, a facility constructed by the military junta after the coup. The ward collapsed as a result of the bombing. At least 12 civilians, including a pregnant woman, were reportedly injured in the strike.
“There are many injured,” the source added. “The emergency ward, which was newly built under Min Aung Hlaing’s administration and painted red, has collapsed. The maternity ward also sustained damage.”
The TNLA stated that further updates on the extent of the damage caused by the bombing would be provided.
Earlier in the week, on Tuesday and Wednesday, the military junta carried out airstrikes on Naung Hkio town, another area under TNLA control, resulting in the deaths of nine civilians.
