An airstrike by the military junta in Tigyaing Township, Sagaing Region, claimed the life of one child and left another injured, marking yet another attack on civilians in the ongoing conflict.
Ton Lon Village in Tigyaing Township was devastated by bombings on Monday morning, leaving 10-year-old Maung Myint Mo Khant dead and 11-year-old Ma Ei Phyo Wai injured, according to a report from the Tigyaing Revolution on Tuesday.
A local military source told MPA, “There were no active clashes in Ton Lon Village or its surrounding areas. The military carried out this indiscriminate attack without any justification.”
The bomb struck directly on a house in the village, killing the boy instantly.
“The junta appears to be targeting areas where they suspect NUG activities,” the source added on Tuesday.
“They also bombed Khampat on Monday. The military junta doesn’t care if civilians die.”
On Monday night, the military launched additional airstrikes on Khampat, a town held by the People’s Defense Force (PDF) and allied groups, in Tamu Township, Sagaing Region.
