Military junta carried out an airstrike in western Demoso Township, Karenni State, dropping three bombs and injuring one villager on Wednesday afternoon.
A local resident from a village in western Demoso, targeted in the airstrike, recounted the incident. Around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a military junta jet circled the area before dropping three bombs. One bomb landed near Sawbawthea village, while the other two struck within and just outside a village in western Demoso.
The resident described the scene: “I was watching from the edge of the village when the first bomb dropped near Sawbawthea. As the jet circled back and approached, I had to run into my house. One bomb hit inside the village, and the other landed just outside, not far away.”
A relative of the injured villager shared details of the aftermath. “When the bomb fell, he was crouching with his hands covering his ears. A fragment struck near his latrine, causing shrapnel to pierce his right arm and reach his ear. He was bleeding heavily. We couldn’t stop the bleeding, so we called an ambulance. He is now receiving treatment at the hospital.”
The injured villager’s condition is reportedly stable, and there is no cause for serious concern, according to information gathered by MPA.
